About Veiled Woman

Isn't she pretty? An Italian artist, Rattaello Monti, who lived from 1818-1881, made this image out of marble. John Toth, a teaching artist (from Lincoln Center) took this picture in the Walker Museum.

I was amazed when I found out the way that the artist made this sculpture. The marble seems so transparent! That guy had skills!
