On August 27, 2002, I sent the following signed proposition to three individuals who were in the assembly wherein I met Jose Ventilacion. I asked them to hand the proposition to Jose.

Proposition for Written Debate Between
Jose Ventilacion and Patrick Kelly
Format for the Debate:
1) Four papers will be authored: two by the affirmative, two
by the negative.
2) Each paper will be in English and limited to 5,000 words.
3) The second paper of the negative will not introduce new
materials or questions which the affirmative will not
have opportunity to answer.
4) Each disputant to act in a gentlemanly fashion; rules of
fairness and equity will be observed.
5) Both disputants will be free to publish all papers as
long as all are published completely and as submitted.
6) Once the exchange has begun, with the submittal of the
first affirmative to the negative, then the exchange will
continue to its completion.
7) Disputants shall observe Hedges Rules of Logic.
Resolved: The Scriptures teach that the Iglesia Ni Cristo (1914) is the "true Church of Christ today."[1]
