Rhianna explains her special Astra-Pentacle Tarot Card Spread
Hi, I am Rhianna and I am glad you have ventured this far into my site. If a search engine brought you to this page first, then please start at Rhianna's Index page I first learned about Tarot as a young teen-ager when I "discovered" a book by Alfred Douglas in a bookstore called THE TAROT: the origins, meanings and uses of the cards. That book was my first and still is my favorite; I have read numerous others since. The first deck that I bought myself at the age of thirteen was the Rider Waite Tarot. You can purchase a reasonably priced Rider Waite Tarot deck from Amazon.com
Tarot is a fascinating field of study especially when combined with the Zodiac If you've been wondering why it would be best to include your birthdate when requesting a reading, please refer to the section of my site where I go into great detail and description about Zodiac decanates
I am conducting scholastic research about the medieval influences which brought about Tarot I have a theory about micro-economic influences of the earlier and later medieval period upon Tarot. I believe that economic and political factors paved the way to the development of Tarot *More results of my research will be posted at a later date* Now for tarot card techniques: when I first began to study tarot I practiced traditional methods of card divinations such as the "Celtic Card Spread" and there are numerous Romany spreads to be learned as well. Of course is is important to be aware of precedence and provenance. After all, Picasso studied traditional art techniques before he and Braque pioneered Cubism as a new form of art! I encourage everyone to learn as much as possible about the Tarot including the historical factors and mythological traditions that have affect Tarot and its symbolism throughout the ages. After a great deal of study and practice, I devised Rhianna's Astra-Pentacle Tarot Card Spread If I am at my own place, I burn incense during a reading Incense creates a fragrant aura; I like jasmine, vanilla, or rose.
Here's my spread:
A court card is always used as the pictorial representation of the querent The suits of the Minor Arcana are divided into the elemental dignities of the cards The Fire Water Air and Earth elements respectively are represented by Wands Cups Swords and Coins The querent will either be a Page, Knave, Jack, Valet, Knight King or Queen or Princess depending upon the deck used in combination with Zodiac traits and other factors which will be explained on this site
The cards are arranged
as if they were points of a 5 Pointed STAR: the pentacle access points.
I
select the first card to be a pictorial representation of the zodiac sign
and gender of the individual who has requested the reading.
I then gather
the deck into one and lay it in the center of the table directly under
the star's top access point
A few minutes
are spent in reflection upon the individual.
The cards
are thoroughly shuffled 3 times.
Random drawings
complete the outlook.
The 2nd
card gives a general foreglimpse of future events.
The 3rd
card displays options and recommendations.
The 4th
card indicates obstacles that may disrupt karma.
The 5th card is the POINT OF VRAISEMBLANCE: this is a card of guidance and probability, it is the mirror of the apparent truth.
I of course developed my spread after spending years studying others (basically the Celtic Cross and some others from books by a variety of authors such as Douglas, Huson, Gray and Peach )
