This is the praeliminaris, the setting and actual session techniques are found on the next page.
Rhianna has transcribed
her experiences with crystal ball gazing (and hopes to post a picture of
her crystal ball just as soon as she gets her camera to work *grin*) within
a special journal (Rhianna loves journals, she can't get enough blank books
to write her thoughts in) which has tremendous sentimental meaning and
memories for Rhianna.
The book is bound with a cardboard covered with a pinkish red burgundy
satin brocade created in the Himilayan region of Nepal...When Rhianna touches
this delightful book, she feels that she is somehow magically connected
to the Himalayan Kingdoms of Nepal. The paper of her journal has been stamped
with hand carved wooden blocks which depict mythical beasts of the exotic
Himalayan Ranges. "What shall I inscribe into this romantic journal?" asked
RhiannaWhat better
topic to trancribe than the esoteric art of gazing into the crystal ball?
Now, I (Rhianna)
share my techniques, which I wrote using calligraphy, with you.

remember that a pure crystal sphere is an expensive item and should be
treated as you would treat your finest possessions
Create an aura for mystical readings
Take a walk down my
long hallway (aren't long hallways Romantic?) and brush past the red
glass beaded curtains, they'll help ensure our privacy...and shouldn't
we strive to have the beauty of form in every part of our lives? The quest
for beauty is an integral part of my
Tarot card readings, my crystal ball readings, my quest to understand
the Zodiac and astrology...the
Rhune Stone readings, etc.... and I like to see the beautiful in the ordinary
paths my life follows.

Certain rules
intrinsic to crystal gazing must be followed in order to succeed in visualizing
the outcome within the crystal sphere.
It is in your best
interest and your querent's best interest to create the Aura of the Reading
especially if you are giving a Tarot Card Card Reading or if you are giving
readings from a Crystal Ball.
The room should
be fading with the shades of the evening...semidarkness is auspicious for
crystal gazing which also works well during the Twilight Dusk and break
of day. It is beautiful to have the flickering half-shadows from a semi-circle
of votive candles...round crystal votive candle holders add such beauty
and help to create the Aura of the Reading.
The AMERICAN HERITAGE DICTIONARY
defines the word aura as "a distinctive air or quality that characterizes
a person or thing..." (page 141, Boston, Houghton Mifflin Company ©
1985)
and that is precisely what you are aiming to do: the querent should feel
as if he or she is in a new and neutral space but with the ability to look
within and to find the answers to the quest in that person's heart.
You wouldn't want
a distracted querent would you?
Bright light should
be avoided. Crystal Ball Readings should not be done in the bright of day
nor in bright artificial light
*Just SAY NO to
florescent light*
Goodness! Try
to get any results at all from your crystal under florescent light (frankly,
it won't work). If for some reason you must crystal gaze during the day,
the North Room or Northern part of the room is best.
Create an aura for mystical readings
Place the crystal
on the table with a solid stand holding it underneath...or, if you are
inclined to do so, hold the crystal in the palm of your hand.
