Seats
The seat is second only to the bike itself in determining how much
you will enjoy your riding. A poor seat will have your buns burning
and screaming for a break in as little as 30 minutes in some cases.
Conversely, sit on a good one, or even a bad one that just happens to
be built right for your butt, and it will seem like you can ride
forever!
- Honda - I'm one of the lucky one's whose butt was
designed for the stock Nighthawk seat. Honda must have done their
marketing research on the 40'ish baby boomers who are either just
beginning or returning to biking, cuz it fits me perfect. As for
you 80's Nighthawk owners, I've seen pictures of bikes with stock
seats and those with customs. Let me know what you have, and how
you like it.
- Corbin - I know
that Corbin makes a seat for the 90's Honda Nighthawk 750. I've
heard good and bad. Some love them, some don't care for them. In
my opinion, the best part about Corbin is that they will go out of
their way to make sure your seat is right for you. If you can
spend a half a day or so in their factory, they will practically
custom fit it to your butt! I bet if you had an older Nighthawk,
and were willing to spend a few hours with them, they could
probably build you a seat on your existing seat base. Check out
their Web site and send them an e-mail. You can read about a visit
to the Corbin factory posted by
Yvonne, who
is a "vertically challenged" Nighthawk 750 owner. She had a seat
custom made to compensate.

about how other Nighthawk owners feel about Corbin seats.
- Russell -
Russell will make a custom seat for your bike. The only catch
is, they build the seat on your existing seat base. You will be
without a seat for a while, and if you ever sell the bike, let's
hope the next owner has the same buns! If you live in or are
planning a trip to Northern California, they will perform a "one
day ride in" service for you for an extra $60.00. They can be
reached at: Russell Cycle Products, 43151 Hwy 299E, PO Box 609,
Fall River Mills, CA 96028, Phone # 800-432-9566
- Travelcade in Dominuez Hills, Calif. (right by Long
Beach, Calif.) Will install gel into the seat -- add 2" of raised
lumbar support at rear of rider position and recover for $250. You
actually get to talk to the guy who will make your seat. Can
actually do anything you want, leather backrest etc. Also all
measurements are to fit you. 10 days delivery time. Their phone
number is 310 638 1222
