Here's the latest from Pam:
"I've been busy playing. I sure wish I knew what I was gonna be when I
grow up."
So once again, a web only edition, cobbled together by yours truly.
Welcome to The Black and White issue!...no significance to that title, other
than the fact that many of the pages that make up SB#53...are.
First, our congratulations to Oidarman, who's "never ending story", "HELL COMES FOR BREAKFAST" has piqued the interest of a publisher. His possible gain is, however, our loss. The SB link to the existing pages is no more, because of commercial constraints; we hope you enjoyed while the price was right, and maybe one day you too can say "I was reading his stuff even before...".
While it is still "The Season", we pass on this link from Oidarman. It is a subscription site sponsored by the Republican National Committee, that provokes this question: Is "Conservative Activism" an oxymoron?...and if discussions of campaign funding generally cause your eyes to glaze over, get ready for some great muckraking from Salon columnist David Horowitz. Use the drop down menu above, and go to "Commentary"; but don't take any of this as a Short Break political tilt...check out last issue's "Commentary" for a look at the other side!
If you have received a CueCat in the mail, know that there are several articles around the net focusing on privacy concerns...but Short Break points you to an article that lists the most compelling reasons for passing on this toy; and you'll learn the definition of the word "Kludge". Here's a hint...click "Dumb Stuff".
Don't look to get any great deals on hand held devices anytime soon. Shortages are already predicted for holiday gift giving time, and some items already appear to be scarce. For info on one man's solution, and a chuckle, please see "Connections".
Short Break continues to look for as many "connections" as possible, so do bring us to the attention of friends, as the mood may move you, and hitting the Listbot button on the top page makes it easier for us to connect with you.
Finally, thanks to this issue's contributors...RDL and the usual suspects. We're always on the lookout for new tidbits, so keep yours coming, or send in your first.
Enjoy your Short Break,
Dick!
