Hullo Short Breakers!

I suspect that Mother's Day has been Pam's only recent day of rest (and I can't swear to that!), so this is another web only issue of Short Break.

Pam's Real Estate business seems to be thriving, and as is the case in all business ventures, growth is generally regarded as a good thing. If you or someone you know is planning a move, from anywhere, to anywhere, be sure to take advantage of the excellent, free service she has to offer; contact information is at the bottom of this page.

Speaking of free, ZoneAlarm's personal firewall has been discussed in this space before. If you have not availed yourself of this online security aid, please consider doing so. What follows is just a snippet of my online life, while using this invaluable tool.

To: Office of The Provost
    Brown University

Below, please find a copy of my firewall incident log, and the
resulting trace, which indicates a computer connected to your server was
used in an attempt to breach my local security.
I have no association with anyone at your institution, and I am quite
geographically removed. I can think of no non-malicious reason for this
attempt to have been made. Your assistance in having such attempts cease
is greatly appreciated.

Sincerely,
Webmaster@dickedwards.com

A bit of irony; while gathering my thoughts to put this down "on paper", I logged another hit from an institution of higher learning...that one originating from the school my own daughter will be attending in the fall! Enough said?

Thanks to all of this issue's contributors, including Pam, Synnoveah and Wa4u! This has been a fun edition to put together. Do indulge in the original spirit of the web, poking around and clicking as you go. Our links and banners will take you to sites both useful and fun; and they're sometimes in the darndest places, so don't hesitate to "mouseover" anything that strikes you...and even though the lafore.com Random Links page(see drop-down, above) hasn't had a new entry in some time, the links there are as random and enjoyable as ever! SB may be the last site linked to this otherwise orphaned page, so give it a hit, while you can!

Finally, we'd lo%^&*_...acckkkk....home networks are cool, but it is really strange to have someone fire up the printer next to me, from the other end of the house!

Finally, you are encouraged to share SB with all you know, contribute all you care to, and offer feedback whenever you can.

Enjoy your Short Break,
Dick!

Oh by the way... if you, or a friend or family member is thinking about buying or selling real estate anywhere in the world, please call me (Toll Free 800 897-8670) with their name and phone number, and I would be happy to help them. I'll add them to my CAP list, and provide them with the level of service you have come to expect from me. Just say "Fo-Shay!"
