  • Sarbanes-Oxley Section 404 Project Team member, comprised of Internal Audit staff, assessing effectiveness of internal controls for 2004, by designing and performing key control test procedures after documenting process steps,   risks,   control points,   attributes,   and gaps,   through   inquiries   and   walk-throughs.   Documented all phases in a risk matrix, flowchart, and test plan / results template.
  • Designed Income Statement Excel spreadsheets with budget and prior year comparisons, along with customizable formulas for full-year forecast by account. Automatically populated spreadsheet and database   with   actual   monthly   transaction   history   data from SAP FI (G/L) system.     Incorporated date-driven report adjustments (accruals) and commitments, grouped and totaled by time period selected by user, complete with provision for user-definable transaction codes and filtering capability using multiple criteria.
  • Identified web-based sources of Commodity Trade Data (import/export) statistical databases by country. Developed an Excel spreadsheet report template to assimilate data, employing advanced Excel formulas and functionality to automatically lookup, import and present this trade data by user-specified commodity number and reporting periods, then rank the countries and filter the data using multiple criteria.
  • Tax accounting, including effective tax rate variance analysis, account reconciliation and adjustments.

Planned and conducted audits and related consulting and valuation services for investment banking businesses of $10 billion regional commercial bank and S&L holding company.  Focused on investment objectives and strategies; the nature, measurement and control of risks; and identification of regulatory, compliance, and accounting/reporting issues.
  • Advised and recommended measures to Asset/Liability and Portfolio/Trading groups to enhance documentation of activity and holdings in $3+ billion portfolio.
  • Developed a complete set of audit programs for asset / liability management and bank's securities broker-dealer, enabling the bank regulators to limit their examination procedures.
  • Conducted systems review of new   Money Management securities information system.     Identified control weaknesses at vendor and user level.

  • Refined CBC's   M & A   analysis model to handle branch acquisitions   and   incorporate deposit premium calculations, intangibles, and multiple payment options (cash, stock, etc.).

Directed or performed all accounting, reporting, regulatory and compliance activities for CT$I.  CT$I was the securities discount brokerage subsidiary of CBC's lead bank.
