Dear Good Doctor,
I am a young lawyer just setting out to make my fortune in the
world, and I simply cannot understand the antipathy that many people
feel towards my profession. Why just the other day I gave the widow
woman that I had to evict from her home enough money, out of my own
pocket, so that she and her six kids could take the bus to the
local Salvation Army shelter, instead of having to walk the five
miles. And this morning, when I got Carlos "the snow king" Melendez
off because the Police had no "probable cause" when they found the
195lbs. of cocaine in the trunk of his car (which COULD have been
put there by anyone to frame my client), people were actually
yelling obscenities at me. Don't they understand that I was just
doing my job?
the doctor's reply:
No. Hey, did you hear the one about the three empty seats in
a bus full of lawyers going off a cliff? No? That's too bad,
because it was all about you. I also suggest that whenever you need
to fly for any reason, you go by ValuJet.
