mélange create unique electronic music, with elements of classic electronic, ambient, industrial, trip hop, dub, and drum and bass. while drawing from these genres, mélange create their own style, atypical in the world of formulaic electronic bands.

mélange: moving through an abstraction that is the emotion generated by the merging of synthetic and human. music that is synthesized, programmed, yet rarely predictable. sound that blurs the line between throbbing organism and pulsating machinery.

mélange personnel: atom, an electronic musician for over a decade, and the core of mélange, created many of the sounds and played guitar and synth and more for infamous new york industrial band Psycho Horror from late 1992 until 1998. he then decided to take his ideas to the next stage and devote all his musical energy toward mélange. Alex, aka DJ Malfunction is a recent addition as synthesist/turntablist. their live performances have included additional synthesists, sometimes a dance/performance artist and a multimedia backdrop.
