I first heard of Richard Thompson back in my college days in the early 1970's. He was the guitar player for Fairport Convention, a group that still exists and actually is going pretty strong. One day my friend Keith showed me an album where a man was wearing a beekeepers costume. That was the first Richard Thompson solo album. I couldn't figure out why somebody would want to leave such a fabulous group. Now I know. | |
