Let it Snow - for three days and what do you get? A helluva lot of
snow. And don't think for a minute that Maryland is a northern state.
The Governor has closed the state's highways, the Metro is not running and the
Federal Government is already announced it is closed Tuesday. Forget Code
Orange - it's Code White! Click on photos for bigger image.

17" on the lawn, but deeper drifts |
|
Out on the front lawn, the tape measure goes down 17". The wind has pushed-up some drifts, especially in the back yard. The first two days, the snow was light and fluffy, but last night's sleet gave it all a hard coating and extra weight to push the loft down. |

A view up Belleview Avenue |

Numerous passes by a plow - can't you tell? We have to drive up this street to get to our driveway. |

Ice at front door |

The light was hot enough to melt the snow, but it was cold outside! |

Our Hero |
|
Neighbor Aaron with our favorite tool - Bubba the snowblower. He cleared the sidewalks along Forest Road. Too bad we didn't have Bubba for the driveway. |

Bubba's Legacy |
|
A Start to cleaning the front walk. Bubba the snowblower cleared a path so we could reach the front walk. Had to make a path for the mailman - but no mail tomorrow the government is closed. |

Big Ed |
|
Bubba could not handle the mound of snow at the corner left by the street plow, so Ed had to cut through and allow a way for pedestrians to keep off the street. |

Mary Jane tackles the front walk |
|
For the fourth time, we clear a path to the front door. If we didn't move snow three times before, it would have been too much to dig. I blame the groundhog. |

Less than three inches of rain |
|
The weatherman said that it was only three inches worth of rain. I don't believe him. The grasses on the corner look nice in the snow, as does the sight of MJ digging. |

Damage from Last Storm |
|
Earlier in the week, we had a mini snow, but it was very heavy and one of the two bushes on the side of the house (along Belleview Ave) fell over. The rootball popped-out from the weight. A shame as it will open the whole side of the yard to the street. |

The reward of hard work |
|
See the snow piled-up on the right? There was so much snow on the car, the weight had the tires touching the top of the wheel well. |

The Day After - More Snow |
|
Tuesday we awoke to more flurries! MJ headed right out to clean the back walk. It became a zen mission. |

The Sun Shines! |
|
The sun finally came out. The mound of snow beyond MJ is what we had lifted off the driveway for the past 3 days! It is amazing how much snow is out there. We ran out of places to put it. Now they say it may rain. Wait for photos of the Great Flood of 2003. |

Equal time for Walden |
|
Had to at least have one photo of Walden. She's 18-1/2 years old - so she deserves it. |
