There are too many things to do in New Orleans. The French Quarter can consume your whole trip. You could also head south to the bayou or north to the big river plantations. You can go to Café Du Monde at the break of dawn for beignets & cafe au lait or tour the cemeteries at night. No matter what you do, you'll have a blast doing it!
It sounds very bizarre, but a popular activity in New Orleans is cemetery tours. Ask your hotel for information about tours they are affiliated with. For more information on cemeteries, click here. New Orleans also has a lovely art museum.
Not far from New Orleans are the river plantations, the most famous being Oak Alley.
For a full list of everything to do, check out the state tourism web search engine here. Look for the many bayou swamp tours available.
If nothing else, New Orleans is the place to come and eat. Sleep in the street if you have to, but get a good meal. Here are a few of our favorites. You'll need reservations (except for Acme) and always save room for desert! Click here for Nola Live's Restaurant Guide, and here for Foodfest Guide.

MJ's Birthday celebration. Well, it looks like we the group will have a party on Saturday night. Still no big ideas yet. But that is the point - we'll probably have no big plan - just finding a place to spend time with friends - but we'll see.
