A message from the author:
Hi, this is my latest attempt (if you can call it that)
at a web page. This is still a big improvement from my first web page.
Popular opinion is that I needed to have one so who am I to disagree.
In fact, one of my friends was so concerned that he gave me a page
whether I wanted one or not. Now I have my own and I'm trying to make
it work. So here it is. Unfortunately law school and the Bar
Exam have intervened, so not much has changed on the page for a while. And
if you are wondering, "deadparrot" is a Monty Python reference and has nothing
to do with my friend, Jake, sitting on my shoulder over on the left. |

A Little More Than You Wanted to Know About Me

Hi, I'm
hapgood (or at
least I am on the internet) and this is my web page. My friends often
call me Chris or just "hey you". I am a 31 year old graduate from the
University of Akron School of Law.
I passed the July 2001 Ohio
Bar Exam and I am now an official attorney! I am from
Charleston, WV (yes...that's
West Virginia). I have a Bachelor
of Arts degree in Psychology from West Virginia
University. I spent the last year of law school working for
Community Legal Aid Services in Canton,
Ohio where I got to practice some law defending evictions in municipal
court. Speaking of court...check out the picture of me posing with

Day O'Connor (below). Currently, I am working as an Assistant
Prosecuting Attorney in the Tax Division for the
Summit County Prosecutor's
Office in Akron, Ohio. I
have been admitted to practice in the Federal Court for the
Northern District of Ohio were
I practice in some areas of
bankruptcy in addition to working
in various areas of tax
law in the Court of Common
Pleas representing various County agencies. Hey, check out the
picture from my wedding (left). We had a great time and had a
piper to celebrate the
Ross family
Scottish roots.
Speaking of family...check out the pictures of my family at my law
school graduation and of my two dogs (below). Most recently I've
gotten myself back into shape, dropping 50 pounds through swimming, biking,
running, Kung Fu, and Tai Chi. I have run in the 2004 & 2005
Akron Marathon Relay, the 2005
Buckeye Half Marathon,
and the 2005 Charleston Distance
Run (America's 15 Miler). My biggest accomplishment to date was
the completion of my first
triathlon
in 2005, an Olympic
Distance event, where I was slow but a finisher.. |

Well, that's my page. Pretty lame?
You bet, but it will get better as I get time to work on it. For

that since I started law school I have had no time to do much with this webpage.
