This is the only Montana usage that I have seen. No studio name is printed on the card, but the manuscript initials "P & C" on the stamp identify the Virginia City studio of Pickett & Carter. The higher than usual 5¢ rate is consistant with the fact that Virgina City was a mining boomtown.
