Photographs were often tucked into a letter, but this one was simply
addressed as a small envelope would be and mailed.

With both photographer and postal handstamps, it is franked with a
2¢ Jackson, cork-canceled at Ripon, Wisconsin for city delivery.
The Ripon studio's handstamp marking is dated August 5, 1866, four days
after the photograph tax was eliminated.
