Fishbone, The Smartest Cat, lost her life in September 2003. She was mauled to death by a pack of loose dogs. This gang cornered defenseless Fishbone as she was cleaning up crack pipes and syringes in Lott Park so that neighbor children could play safely. I hope the viewers of this site are considerate and responsible, and do not allow their dogs out of their fenced yards unless on a leash. One brilliant and very civic-minded feline lost her life.

Velvet has agreed to assume the void that Fishbone has left. She is currently working on her dissertation. She hopes to receive her doctorate (Ph.C., or Cat Philosopher) by the end of the year. In the picture at the left, she is taking a much needed rest after many hours of internet research.

Velvet welcomes your letters, and can answer your problems with as much aplomb and wisdom as did Fishbone. Madame will remain Editor and General Wise Counsel to Velvet. She assumes the Yoda position in the picture below.
